Streetball Free Style is a short movie but costed me 3 months to finish it - I wanna try a unique animation-making method, means entirely stop-motion animation (all the keyframes). Every frame is drawed by myself. The inspiration partly came from iPod Ads series.
If you've played the EA NBA Live Series, maybe you'll find that the movements and posture are very familiar. Well, there're somebody ask me how to make this - it looks very easy - but I'll tell you, No tricks. Here's the workflow:- Play some tricks in EA NBA Live 2004;
- Enter the "Replay" mode, adjust the camera then printscreen every frame and save as a JPEG;
- Open the Photoshop and adjust the size of every JPEG;
- Draw the outline of the player in Macromedia Flash then fill color;
- Also outline the ball, the playground and the backboard.
Each keyframe will cost me 20-30 minutes. So you see this is not very easy, it's back-busting!!
